Step-by-Step Packing and Shipping Guide
- Prepare Your Shipment: Once you've confirmed your shipment with us, we'll provide you a complimentary packing slip and an insured shipping label, usually through UPS. This label requires a signature upon delivery for added security.
- Pack Your Metals Securely (Pictures Below): To ensure the safe transit of your precious metals, it's essential to pack them securely. Start by using two boxes: one inside the other. In the inner box, place your metals along with the packing slip provided by My Gold Advisor. Wrap the metals carefully with paper or bubble wrap, ensuring they're snug and well-protected. If shipping a tube of coins, stuff the tube tightly with paper. Remember, a well-packed box should not emit a metallic sound when shaken.
- Seal Your Shipment (Pictures Below): Once your metals are securely packed in the inner box, place the box inside the outer box along with the label insert (bottom half of the label—see example). Fill any empty spaces with additional packing material to prevent shifting during transit. Seal the outer box tightly with tape, preferably using strapping tape or security tape for added reinforcement. Ensure there are no markings on the outside of the box indicating its contents for added discretion.
- Attach the Shipping Label: Tape the provided shipping label (top half of the example) to the box where it's clearly visible. This will ensure easy identification and processing of your shipment by the carrier.
- Drop Off Your Package: You can conveniently drop off your package at any UPS store. Use their store locator tool to find the nearest location to you.
